Description
Made by Savage Arms Company of Utica, New York in 1935. Gun has blued 26" steel side by side barrels in 12 gauge with 2-3/4" chambers, ejectors, raised matted rib, twin bead sights and choked Improved Cylinder and Improved Cylinder. Barrels are marked "A.H. Fox-Special-12 Gauge" on right barrel and "Savage Arms Corp. Utica, N.Y. USA" on left. Breeches have standard floral engraving. Blued squared off action with standard "SP" Grade floral engraving, non-automatic safety and a Kautzky single selective trigger. Walnut checkered factory English grip stock with checkered wood butt. Matching checkered walnut beavertail forearm with latch release. Factory letter mentions all options except forearm and butt. LOP: 14". DAC: 1-1/2". DAH: 2-1/2". CALIBER: 12 GA. S/N: 34813. Condition
70% original barrel blue with muzzles and carry areas fading to a silver patina. 80% action blue with corners and tang blue worn to silver. Wood has been lightly cleaned with usage dings and marks and checkering starting to wear flat. Screws have been turned, but are in time. Mirror bores with good mechanics and tight lock-up.
